That is Some Scary Stuff ...

At first glance it would appear that things are turning around for our great nation and its troubled economy ...

  • The DOW posted a 900+ point gain during yesterday's trading.
  • The local price for a gallon of regular unleaded has dropped below $3.
  • State College is moving closer to approving an ordinance permitting residential poultry aficionados to house up to four hens [assuming they remain at least fifty feet from neighboring property lines].
  • The Iowa Hawkeyes snapped their three game losing streak with an earth shattering attack on the Indiana Hoosiers.

Yet I can't help but see the brown stripe in this rainbow of hope ...

  • Beverly Hills Chihuahua remains number one at the box office. That is just wrong.

Come On Blake Coopers ...

I must admit that I am guilty of the sin of vanity. Further, I have just committed my damning act in the most egregious, web 2.0 way ... I just Googled myself. To be fair, I only did it to see how and if my blogs would appear with my name as the search criterion. Long story short ... my College Football Blog did appear [on page three].

Unfortunately, the short versions of stories are rarely as interesting as the extended cuts and in this case ... it does not explain the title of this post. What does - are the results that preceded my entry ... the two plus pages of other people with my name. After following a few links I must say that I am not impressed. At the top of the pile is a raging drama geek. There is a recording engineer from Canandaigua, NY and an opthalmologist from KC, MO. [not bad gigs ... if you can get them]

I would like to think that we can do better. In fact I challenge all the Blake Coopers out there to improve their current station in life ... or at least make them more interesting. Get arrested for streaking at a major league sporting event, test the waters of competitive eating or take up a lost art. Make me proud Blakes ... make us all proud.

I know you didn't ask ...

Some people will have you believe that it is against societal rules to occupy the urinal next to your fellow man. My thoughts are that the urinal approach should be handled like a four-way stop ... the first one there gets to go first. If you are not that one ... it is stall time. This belief is based largely on personal challenges to start the stream with an audience. Conversely, if a dude is already under way upon your arrival it is perfectly admissible to pull up aside. The point I would like to make [and I would like others to adhere to] concerns urinal egress. Assuming the two-urinal model ... if you are the guy on the right and you zip up first ... roll to the right. Spinning toward the guy next to you does not necessarily make you gay but it sure does not help ... anyone.

Take two [2] ...

Welcome to my second blog.
